Description

Type of ceramic from the Tartessic Late Bronze Age and 'orientalising period', greyish in colour. It is notable for its finesse and burnished surface. The predominant typology from this period comprises carinated pots, bionical urns, small cups and supports in the shape of a reel, forming a table service. Decorative technique with a small brush with leather tip produces the so-called “stroke burnished” and engraved decoration to the incised ceramic. This can have reddish and white pigments covering the geometric ornamentation. The use of painting for decoration is also known.
